And once a year we take a group ourselves. Three ways in, and the first one costs nothing.

Almost everyone who messages us says one of these first.
I don't know how any of this works.
Nobody does the first time. There's an order to it — visa, then flights, then hotels, then the rites themselves. We wrote all of it down and we give it away free, so you can read the whole thing before you spend a dollar.
Every agency wants $3,000.
They do. That price buys you having it handled, and it buys it once. Next year you start from zero and pay it again. Learning to book it yourself is a one-time thing that works every year after.
I'm not religious enough.
Umrah isn't a reward for being finished. Plenty of people go precisely because they're not where they want to be.
I have no one to go with.
Come with us in January. Most of the group is in their twenties and most of them arrive not knowing a single person on the trip. They don't leave that way.
I'll get the rituals wrong.
We teach you the rites before you go, for free. On the trip there's a seminar before we fly so it's familiar before you're standing in it. And if you're still unsure, you can ask me directly on a call.

Can I go without a mahram?
Yes. Saudi removed that requirement, and sisters travel with us on their own. Nothing about the planning or the trip changes.
Why learning it yourself matters.
This is the part most people don't think about until their second trip.
You go whenever you want
Once you know how to book it, you're not waiting for an agency's dates or somebody else's group. You pick the week, you pick how long you stay.
You become the one who takes your family
In most families there's one person who knows how this works, and everyone else goes when that person goes. Parents, siblings, friends. That person can be you.
You stop paying the markup
Most of a $3,000 agency price is the cost of someone else doing the booking for you. Do it yourself and that money turns into more nights, a closer hotel, or a second trip.

It's priced for students and people early in their careers, and the margin is thin on purpose — this isn't where the business makes its money. It exists because some people would rather go with a group the first time.

Where the $3,000 actually goes.
An agency price isn't mostly flights and hotels. A big part of it is the cost of someone else doing the booking, the paperwork and the phone calls for you. That's a fair thing to pay for once. It's an expensive thing to pay for every time.

Who you're talking to.
I first went when I was 17, still in high school. We booked through one of the big agencies and paid a lot for it. It was amazing — but the group was people three times my age and the schedule was built for them. I never left the area around the Haram. I didn't see the city at all. The second time I went I did it myself, and it was a completely different trip. Since then it's been three years of this, including months living in Madinah. Dozens of Umrahs in and it still doesn't get old. I run the January trip because I love doing it. You go out with a group of young people and they come home your brothers and sisters. A lot of them come home and change their lives — not slightly, properly. Being part of that is the reason any of this exists.
